In this part, the two little people are completely immersed in the happiness of finding cheese, and they completely ignore the little changes happened in station C—the supply of cheese is getting smaller and smaller.they just assume that the cheese will be there forever and get more and more relaxed. They even show their friends the cheese with pride. therefore,the little people have forgot danger and think the cheese will company with them forever.
However,one day accidents happened, all the cheese disappear in one night,which is fatal to the little people. they refuse to believe what happened and also refuse to understand what happened.They just scream and shout loudly.
Mice performed better. They quickly figured out what happened and abandoned Station C. they put on shoes which are always hang on their necks and started to look for cheese in maze again.however, the little people are still obsessed in sadness and confusion
#What does the section mean for you? Give a story from your life.
The story really make me to think a lot. As human,our emotion is more complex than other animal.sometimes,the emotions and beliefs will motivate us to overcome difficulties. However,sometimes they will also prevent us from success. We love to devote our beliefs and emotions to things which are special. And when we lose them, we will lose more than things. We will lose the whole beliefs. In the story, the reason why mice can afford the consequence and quickly start again is that they don’t think the cheese is special. the cheese is just food for them. Losing food doesn’t matter a lot.
However, to the little people, the cheese isn’t just food. It means more. It means success, home, pride and so on. When they lose cheese, they also lose it. Maybe it’s the root of our pain.
Here I will give a story of me for example.
When i was very young, my best friend gave me a box of chocolate as a gift. I didn’t eat it but keep it carefully instead. Because i think it means friendship between us. However, one day, when my mother cleaned my room , she found the overdue chocolate and threw it. When i returned home, i became very angry immediately. I think a part of our friendship has lost.but in fact, it was just a box of chocolate. Our emotions and beliefs give it special meaning.
