Today is Tuesday.
Tommy and Annika had already told their teacher that a new girl student, whose name was Pippi Longstocking, was going to school. And the teacher also had heard the things about that girl from the little town. As she was such a very pleasant teacher that she had decided she was going to do all she could to make Pippi feel happy and learn a great deal of knowledge when she was in school. Pippi didn't care much about that. She only wanted to get Christmas vacation. The teacher asked Pippi what her full name was and her answer was such a long one that the teacher decided that she would rather call her Pippi. The teacher also asked Pippi an arithmetic question: what five add seven were. Pippi told her if the teacher didn't know, she wouldn't tell her the answer. The students stared in horror at Pippi. The teacher smiled and told Pippi that it was the way teacher asking questions in school and students should answer those questions. Pippi told the teacher contritely that she didn't know the answer. Then the teacher told her seven and five were twelve.
