Avocado
While cooking in the kitchen, Yanbin pointed to an avocado, asking me:"What's the name of this thing in English? Palo Alto? Palapenõ?" I can't keep my face straight :D
To tell the truth, remembering English names of vegetables and fruits is not easy for a non native English speaker. It took me long long time to remember the actual names, since I usually just pick things up when I see them in the market. It's not easy when I don't pay attention to names on the labels (I do pay attention to the prices!). Once I pay attention, it's easier to remember. I'm sure Yanbin will get there soon, too!
