2018-03-27(the gender pay gap)

The future has arrived.It commences now.

        With only a fortnight before the deadline ,not even a third of companies ,charities and  public bodies have met their legal 

requirement to public figures on their met their requirement to publish figures on thier gender pay gaps.

Cause:

1,In essence , the gap exists because  the senior jobs are dominated by men.

2,Much of the gap reflects an enduring tendency to discriminate on the basis of  hours worked , and assume that  top jobs only performed in on way.

Measures:

1,The equalities watchdog - -blind CVs

                                             unconscious-bias training 

                                            setting specific , numberical ,stretch targets

2,MPs on the woman and equalities select committe argue that increasing male involvement in family life , including through an extension of paid , ringfenced paternity leave , will be key.

3,close analysis and publicity 


The time for excess and explanations is over . Real progress requires a broader respons , with managment,...

the problem is not an isolated case ,but stuctural.

A shift from the idea

in place for  almost half a century.
