I am going to share with you a tradition that is still popular but in fact does not make any sense. Some people don't dare to cut their hair during the first month of the lunar year, as they believe that if people cut their hair, their uncle will die. In my family, my uncle is the only son of my grandparents, and he is the apple of their eye. Every single Spring Festival my grandparents will tell my peers that we shouldn't break the tradition. I remember when I was in secondary school, I had bobbed hair and wanted to have long hair because most of boys like girls who have long hair. So I didn't cut my hair before the spring festive.
However, my secondary school has a tradition that every students need to have a standard hairstyle, which means you need to either wear your hair in ponytail or wear short hair.
Meanwhile, my hair was not long enough to tie it up. So my teacher asked me to cut it . At that time I had to break the tradition and cut my hair. After cutting my hair, I was worried about my uncle's safety. And I called him three times a week. So as you know my uncle is alive and healthy
For me, we should treat tradition wisely, for some traditions don't make any sense. It is necessary for us to absorb its essence and discard its dross. The reason many people want to follow the tradition is that maybe they are superstitious and would rather follow the crowd than be unconventional.
