There seems to be a lot of emphasis on happiness and how you can achieve happiness. For Haw, happiness used to be a big chunk of cheese, but now it does not seem like a particularly realistic goal. He sets his sights on being always on the road and in the pursuit of happiness that's much better than just to wait for it. And then if he happens to find new cheese and meet with his happiness, he'll embrace it.
