smudged
表示“弄脏的，模糊不清的”，英文解释为“dirty or not clear”举个🌰：
The signature was smudged and impossible to decipher.
签名被弄得模糊一片，无法辨认。
spiral-bound
表示“（书或笔记本的纸页）螺旋装订的”，英文解释为“a spiral-bound book or notebook has pages that are attached together by a long wire that is twisted around and put through small holes in the sides of the pages”。
tin opener
表示“开罐器”，英文解释为“A tin opener is a tool that is used for opening cans of food.”
observe
这里提两个不常见的含义，
1）表示“庆祝；庆贺；欢度”，英文解释为“to celebrate festivals, birthdays, etc.”举个🌰：

predominantly
表示“绝大多数，主要地”，英文解释为“mostly or mainly”举个🌰：

表示“强迫；逼迫；迫使”，英文解释为“to force someone to do something”举个🌰：

2. Historically left-handed people were considered inferior, with the use of the left hand being associated with witchcraft. 以前总认为左撇子的人就比较差劲。

7. A left-handed compliment is a criticism couched as a compliment; otherwise known as a backhanded compliment, such as “you are very competent for someone so inexperienced.”

13.There's even a place called Left Hand. It's in West Virginia, US but sadly the town isn't named after its left-handed community. It's actually named after nearby Lefthand Run creek.
