（1）先翻译前两句，用表转折的but连接，即Half an hour had gone by,but the last bus had not come yet. 然后翻译最后一句，只好做某事用has to，即We had to walk home.

(2)两句用表因果的because连接，前半句看上去…用as if，后面跟一个从句，可翻译为Mary looks as if she is very worried about the Chinese exam because she has not learned the texts by heart.

(3)用since连接两个句子，不妨做某事用might as well do sth. ，已被推迟用完成时，翻译为Since the basketball match has been postponed,we might as well visit the museum.

（4）整个…期间用during，一直用all the way，和…住在…用stay…with…，即He stayed in Australia with his parents all the way thought World War II.

(5)自…至今用since作连接词，和…失去联系用lost touch with…，可以翻译为Since l graduated from Nanjing University in 1985,l have kind of lost touch with my classmates.
