John was at the library and busy preparing himself well for his final exam the other day. He should have read the papers rather than reading the magazine that centered on cakes and puddings. He was completely indulged in all those fascinating delicate desserts and it struck him that there was a place which featured many well-decorated cakes. Without any further ado, he rode his bicycle aiming to buy all sorts of cakes and puddings as the features of his afternoon tea. He was happy as a lark on the way to the store with the breeze gently blowing through his cheek. But to John’s great disappointment, there were an immense number of people in front of the store and he got seemingly little chances to buy one before it closed. He couldn’t help feeling enraged and helpless after an hour of waiting without any sign of even the slightest movement forward.
Driven to despair, he resolved to make the cakes all by himself. He was thrilled by this thought since he had no related experiences in making any dessert at all. He quickly headed home, found out the recipes on the shelf and prepared the materials he needed. But not until he finished all the work of preparation did he realize in surprise that he had absolutely no idea how to get started. Though the instruction was rather thorough, he still found it difficult to deal with all the matters involved in making a cake. Then, the thought of asking his mother for help finally came into his mind. John’s mother was adept in cooking as well as baking. Thereafter, John and his mom together succeeded in making a mouthwatering pudding-cake. And their afternoon tea project turned out to be successful. The taste was rather exceptional, which won much praise by John’s dad and sister alike! This experience was still vivid in John’s mind, and he couldn’t wait to have another attempt to make a cake together with his mom. It was his mother’s ingenuity and tenderness that made all the processes successful and memorable!
