今天的故事选自《牛津阅读树》的第五级别，Biff和Kipper有一把会发光能带人穿越时空的魔法钥匙，这次魔法钥匙带孩子们去到了一个地方，找寻了青蛙的传说。
Biff was reading Kipper a story all about a talking frog.
Biff在给Kipper读一本关于会讲话的青蛙的故事。
“Frogs can’t talk!” said Kipper.
“青蛙不会说话！Kipper说。
“In stories talking frogs are always princes under a spell, ” Biff explained.
Biff解释说：“在故事中，会说话的青蛙通常是被施了魔法的王子。”。
Just then the magic key began to glow.
就在这时他们的神奇钥匙发光了
It was time for an adventure.
是时候去冒险了
The magic took them to a pond.
神奇钥匙把他们带到了池塘边。
A frog was gazing at them.
有一只青蛙正盯着他们
“Hello,” it croaked.
“你好，”它跟他们打招呼。
“You must be a prince,” Biff told it.
“你一定是个王子，”Biff告诉它。
“Really?” croaked the frog.
“真的吗？青蛙呱呱叫着。
“Just like our story!” gasped Kipper.
“就像我们的故事！ Kipper喘着气说。
There was a castle not far away.
正好不远处就有一座城堡
“Come on. We’ll take you there.” said Biff.
Biff对青蛙说，“跟我们走，我们带你去城堡。”
At the castle gate, a soldier said,
在城堡门口，一个士兵说：
“Hey, you can’t bring that frog in here.”
“嘿，你不能把青蛙带进来。”
“He’s really a prince,” Biff said.
“他真的是个王子，”Biff说。
“And princes always live in castles.”
“王子们总是住在城堡里。”
The soldier let them in.
士兵让他们进去。
They came to the castle kitchen.
他们来到城堡厨房。
“Hey, no yucky frogs in here!” shouted the cook.
“嘿，别让这只恶心的青蛙在这！”厨子喊道。
“He’s really a prince,” said Kipper.
“他真是个王子，”Kipper说。
“In that case, do you like fancy food?” the cook asked the frog.
“那样的话，那你喜欢吃精致美味的食物吗？”厨子问青蛙。
“Yes, Princes always like fancy food,” said Biff.
“是的，王子都喜欢美味的食物，”Biff说。
“I prefer bugs,” croaked the frog.
“呱呱，我更喜欢吃虫子。” 青蛙说道。
After lunch they met the Princess.
午饭后他们见到了城堡里的公主。
“Get that horrible thing out of my sight!” She shouted.
“把那可怕的东西从我眼前移开！”她喊道。
“He’s a prince, not a horrible thing.” said Biff.
“他是个王子，不是什么可怕的东西。”Biff连忙说。
“And princes always get on with princesses.”
“王子总是和公主相处融洽。”
“In that case, let’s play tennis,” the Princess told the frog.
公主对青蛙说， 要是这样，我们打网球吧。
“I’d rather swim” the frog croaked.
“我宁愿游泳，”青蛙咕哝着说。
The King and the Queen were outside.
国王和王后在外面。
“Princess, why are you talking to a frog?” asked the King.
“公主，你为什么和青蛙说话？国王问道。
When Biff explained, the Queen said,
Biff又解释了一遍，王后说，
“The royal wizard must change this poor prince back.”
“皇家巫师必须把这个可怜的王子换回来。”
The royal wizard just listened.
巫师听到了
Then he said, “That isn’t a prince. That is a real frog.”
然后他说，“他真不是王子，他就是只青蛙，真的青蛙。”
The King was furious.
国王听了之后大发雷霆
“Get that frog!” he cried.
“抓住那只青蛙！”他喊道。
The frog did its best to avoid capture.
青蛙用尽全力逃跑。
But at last one soldier got it.
但是最后还是被抓到了。
“Now take him to the tower,”
“现在把他带到塔上去”
ordered the Queen.
王后要处罚它，便命令道。
“That’s not fair. ” cried Biff.
“这不公平。”Biff叫道。
“This frog is more special than any prince.
“这只青蛙比任何王子都特别。
How often do you meet a talking frog?”
你见过几只青蛙会说话的？
“Very well,” said the King.
“你说的也对，”国王说。
“Set him free.”
那把它放了吧。
The frog jumped towards the window.
青蛙向窗户跳去。
It looked back at the room and croaked, “Goodbye！”
它回头看了看房间，说了一声“再见”
Then it hopped off the ledge.
然后跳下了窗台。
“Talking frogs always hop off like that,” said Biff.
Biff说，看，会说话的青蛙都是这么跳走的。
“We need to hop off, too!” said Kipper.
Kipper说，“我们也该跳走啦”
