Maybe most of people are immersed in the love story between the rose and the little prince. "They consider each other irreplaceable." That may be the best form of love. But another relationship deserves more attention —— the special relationship between the fox and the little prince.

The rose had told the little prince that she was the unique rose in the world before the little prince left her. After the little prince traveled around several planets, he finally arrived the earth. He found that there were more than 5,000 roses in a single garden. And there were many gardens in the world. So, the rose wasn’t the only one in the world like what she had said to the little prince. The little prince was disappointed and he cried.

Then a fox appeared.

The little prince thought that the fox looked pretty, so he wanted to play with the fox. But the fox didn’t agree. "I’m not tamed.” The fox said.

According to the Oxford dictionary, “Tame” means to make something easy to control. But here, in the fox’s view, "Tame” means: to establish ties.

“If you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world...” But if not, they don’t need of each other.

At that moment, the little prince realized that there was a flower had tamed him. And so as the fox. He knew clearly that the little prince’s heart was full of the rose from the beginning to the end. The fox still wanted the little prince to tame him, although the little prince wanted to meet more friends and broaden his sight. And the fox said: "If you tame me, it will be as if the sun came to shine on my life...... the golden grain will bring me back the thought of you. And I shall love the wind in the wheat...”

Do you think the emotion of the fox to the little prince is love?

Yes, this is love. It’s a feeling like: you love a city after falling in love with a person. “If you want a friend, tame me...” The fox still insisted. Even though he can not have the love of the littl prince, he just eagered to make friend with the little prince.

And then，the fox taught the little prince how to tame him. Finally, the prince tamed the fox. But it’s time for departure. The fox said he shall cry.

However, the little prince thought that: "It was your own fault. I never wished you any sort of harm ;but you wanted me to tame you...”

The fox didn’t blame him. He fell in love with the color of wheat. And because of this, the fox didn’t feel lonely. “No care is the most lonely.”

Then the fox told the little prince:“Go and look again at the roses, you will understand now that yours is unique in all the world. Then come back to say goodbye to me, and I will make you a present of a secret.”

The little prince went to the rose garden. He said he tamed the fox and made him his friend. “You are beautiful, but you are empty.” He finally understood why his rose is the unique in all the world. Because he spent his time on his rose. He talked with her, watered her everyday before he left, got rid of the pests of her and covered a glass globe to against the horror of drafts......

To be sure, the little prince loved his rose deeply, but he was too young, he didn’t know how to love. The fox loved the little prince, however, the little prince’s heart has already full of the rose. His beloved rose.

So, the fox chose to let him go. Before the little prince left, told him a secret: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” The fox used his eyes to see the little prince, he understood clearly that his heart was not here and the prince would not be happy if he force him to stay here.

“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.” The fox finally let the little prince go back to his planet to find his beloved rose.

The love of the fox is compromise. He knew the end when he found the rose tamed the little prince. Even though he loved the little prince, he just wanted to be his friend.

At the end of the story, he believed that the poisonous snake can help him go back to B-612, so he was bitten by the snake. If the fox know that the little prince chose this way to go back to Star B-612, will he regret letting him go? Do you think the choice of the fox is a sacrifice?

In my opinion, the fox would not regret. The little prince once said: “If you love a flower that lives on a star, it is sweet to look at the sky at night. All the stars are abloom with flowers... " The reason is simple, he just wanted him to have a happy life because he loved him.

Actually, in our life we are both the fox and the little prince. If you are the fox, you are the one who taught others love and responsibility. If you are the little prince, you are the pure and simple one and someone will appear to teach you in your life. That “someone” may not only be your lover, but also can be your friends, parents and even your teachers. In your growth process, they help you be more aware to your emotion.

“You run the risk of weeping a little , if you let yourself get tamed.” This is my favorite words in the movie The Little Prince. The fox chose to let himself get tamed, that’s the reason why he felt so sad when he parting with the little prince. But at least,the fox still have his golden wheat; at least, when he see the wheat, he canstill remember there was someone he had loved.

“Seemingly always apart, but also forever interdependent, only this can be great love.” This poem To the Oak Tree was written by Shu Ting. As far as I’m concerned, this poem is a perfect description of the fox love. It’s a great love.
