Why I love my kindle more than book

If you ever step foot into my home (as unlikely as that may be), the first thing you’ll notice are the books. Suffice to say I or may be more accurate to say, we have a lot of books. "We" is referred to my husband and me especially my husband. He loves to read and also he need a lot of reference book for teaching.

I spoke to my husband about this one day. As we are not trying to impress anyone by having a large, overflowing bookshelf in our condominium, so I have suggested we buy a e-reader instead. In fact I’ve long since given up on organizing the books in any sort of coherent manner. Most people haven’t even read half of the books they own and they remain dormant, meaningless status symbols. Then, we decided to get a basic model of Kindle E-reader.

As advertised in Amazon.com, Kindle is designed as a dedicated e-reader. Indulge your love of reading without interruptions like email alerts and push notifications.

Touchscreen display

Kindle now includes a touchscreen interface, which makes it easier to use features like X-Ray, Goodreads, built-in dictionary, highlighting, and more. And with a glare-free screen that looks like real paper, you can read as easily in bright sunlight as in your living room.

Easy on the eyes

Every time your eyes switch from a bright screen to a dimmer, ambient room, your eyes have to adjust, which may result in fatigue. With Kindle, the page is the same brightness as everything else in the room, so there’s no adjustment needed.

Weeks-long battery life

Kindle does not require power to maintain a page of text, allowing you to read for weeks on a  single charge.

Lighter than a paperback

Kindle is lighter than most paperback books, making it easy and comfortable to hold in one hand for extended periods of time.

Reads like the printed page

Kindle uses actual ink particles and proprietary, hand-built fonts to create crisp text similar to what you see in a physical book. The blacks and whites on the screen are uniform, improving text and image quality.

After a week, what really impressed me is that other people around me won’t know what I’m reading on my kindle. I don’t want every nosey Nelly to know what I’m reading through my commute. After all, it’s none of their business. Kindles or other e-reader are for people who don’t want you to know what they’re reading!
