throne
（国王或女王的）御座，王位，王权，美剧《权利的游戏》英文名为 ’Game of the Thrones‘，这里的throne就有王权的意思。

拓展一下，在美国超市里，经常有卖西兰花，一般都是花冠的部分，所以叫broccoli crowns，我经常把它和花菜的英文名弄混，花菜叫作cauliflower

custard
蛋奶沙司（与水果、布丁一同食用），英文解释为：Custard is a sweet yellow sauce made from milk and eggs or from milk and powder. It is eaten with fruit and puddings. 它大概长这样：

doughnut
炸面圈，甜甜圈，在美式英语里也写作donut。
美国有一家很有名的连锁店叫Dunkin' Donuts，里面有卖各式各样的甜甜圈，看起来很好看，味道还不错，就是实在太甜了，而且热量略高。。。

bang
突然的巨响：A bang is a sudden loud noise such as the noise of an explosion.
I heard four or five loud bangs……
我听到四五声巨响。
thunderstorm
暴，雷雨：A thunderstorm is a storm in which there are thunder and lightning and a lot of heavy rain.
打雷声是thunder，闪电是lightning
suck
吸，吮，抽取，拓展一下，它作动词还可以表示糟糕透顶了：If someone says that something sucks, they are indicating that they think it is very bad.
The system sucks.
这个系统太差劲了。
bucket
有提手的桶，吊桶
drip
水滴，滴液。在咖啡的烹制工具中，有一种是滴漏式咖啡壶，这种咖啡叫drip brewing coffee。

splash
泼，洒，（在水中）嬉戏。
People were having fun in the pool, swimming, or just splashing around.
人们在游泳池里或游泳，或拍打戏水，开心地玩着。
splosh
与splash意思相近，表示在水中啪嗒啪嗒地移动，溅泼着前行。
Children were splashing about in the pool.
孩子们在游泳池里哗哗地游来游去。

短语

royal highness
殿下，对国王、王后、女王等之外王室成员的尊称，也可以说 “Your highness”
tuck in
英式英语中用的比较多，表示痛快地吃某样食物
Come on, tuck in, everyone!
来呀，大家尽情吃呀！
on the count of three
复习一下上一篇笔记中的内容，数到三
be about to do sth
即将做……，马上要发生……：If you are about to do something, you are going to do it very soon. If something is about to happen, it will happen very soon.
