Honorable Visa Officer,
I, Li Ding, am a retired worker and enthusiast for travelling. My husband, who was keen on financial management, has passed away, leaving a substantial heritage to me (stocks, real estates, etc), with which I brought up our two sons. They have both found jobs and raised their own families. Now I really appreciate the joy of living in a harmonious Chinese-style big family. My sons and their wives are busy with their work and I am responsible for taking care of my grandsons, the elder of which is studying in primary school and doing well at school while the younger one, still in kindergarten, intelligent and cute. Though retired, I am busy with cooking for those kids, taking the elder one to school and picking him up after school. I am playing an important role in our family life!
My grandsons need me badly, but my sons and their wives are considerate—they know I love travelling, thus they arrange travelling plans for me every year. Until now, I have been to over 20 countries, including Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, Holland and Switzerland.
I cannot speak a foreign language, therefore I usual travelled with a tourist group before, which lacked the fun of being a real tourist. I hate those quick-paced travelling schedules and I am eager for relaxing and personalized tours.
Last October, one of my friends, Shaochun, Han, proposed an independent travel in Europe. He can speak English and he is experienced in making independent travel plans. I was overjoyed for being able to travel freely this time! I decided immediately to join them and prepared for it. On hearing the good news, I seemed to have had seen myself flying overseas to European continent, experiencing the local customs and enjoying tasty food.
Thank you for reading my application letter and I wish my dream would come true with your help!
