Today I finished an online course at Panda College, the main topic is Writing in Working Place.
During the 2 weeks' course, we learned what, why, how(all about writing) and how to write Work Summary/Emails/Copywriter. I have learned a lot from the course.
1. the course is well designed and presented, the teacher uses a lot of key note/graphic/examples to make the points clear and impressive.
2. All the key points are mentioned again before next day's session, students are required to finish a simple quiz after each day's learning. These are very helpful ways to enhance the learning curve.
Besides the course, I am also taking a reading program at Panda College, each week I will read a book which is recommended according to my Strength Survey result. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed(when I don't have time to finish reading), but I know it can be helpful. I have been introduced to many useful books which I might have never encountered. The only thing I need to do is to figure out a way to make the best of these books(and the time/energy I have put in).
Among all the books I have read, I like Target(目标)very much, it is a business practice book written by a former physicist, whom I had never heard of. He has taught us a new way to look at the bottle-necks in manufacturing - You need to reduce the qty of products which need to be processed by bottle-neck, and there are multiple ways to do that. You can always improve a factory's performance if you are looking at the right direction, and this can also be applied to personal performance management. You are the factory.
All in all, the way we are learning are very different from 1-3 years ago, you are more likely to be a better person because now you have easy access to so many resources, There is no reason not to learn.
