1、General Impressions
This is my first attempt to read a foreign language book. I chose to join you without hesitation when I knew it. And I have seen the movie long time ago. When I read "Fear my botany powers!" I was very excited, just like the time I saw this scene in the movie. I have always thought that reading and watching are two different concepts. Watching movies is passive acceptance of the picture, while reading is our own initiative creation. Growing potatoes and making water on Mars are difficult. If I don't have any scientific knowledge or haven't seen the simple presentation in the movie, I may not easily imagine the scene in my mind...actually hard. Reading give us more time to reflect, also speculate, and I really want to know what will happen the next SOL. This kind of expectation will lead me to read and imagine, hence it is much more attractive.Technology and human beings is an interesting topic, which is worth thinking about while reading this science fiction.

"SOL" first appeared on the first page, and I wondered why it started from the sixth.Where were the 1 to 5？Looking through the following pages,I found out this kind of mark just like a log. Then I recalled that it was a solar day record according to the movie.By the way, A SOL is 39 minutes longer than a day.The temperature difference between day and night can reach over 100 degrees on Mars...intolerable.
