Water-- the source of the life
China is a country that acute shortage of water. Though China ranks fourth in the
world of the global water, but in China, a person only could have 2300 cubic
meters, which is just one fourth of the average of the world. China is actually
one of the poorest average water of the world. However, China also is one of
the most used countries of the world. Waste is serious in China. In industry,
the water supply of product is higher 5 to 10 times than developed countries.
Their repeating utilization factor is more than 70%, while China just rates 20%
to 30%. In addition, the pollution of the water also limits the sustainable
development of China.
From the chart, we can know that during 2006 and 2015, the average of total water
supply is 601 billion 400 million cubic meters, in which the average of surface
water supply contributes 81%. Surface water supply is the most important water
supply source. The total water usage tends to rise slowly, because of the water
for life and ecology. The water for agriculture is influenced by the climate.
It still contributes a large part of the total usage, which rates 63%. Water
for agriculture is essential for our life. It ensures our food supply, which
functions each activity of human being.
Recently, with the promotion of industrialization and urbanization, the demand of the
water is rising, which has threatened the water for agriculture. What‘s more,
the accretion of population and the diversity of food also require more
production of agriculture. It is crucial to ensure enough water for agriculture.
The problem of the water usage is extremely urgent. Facing the serious situation,the government has launched some measures to deal with the problems. In 2016,under the leader of the Party Central Committee, National Water conservancy departmenthas carried out the He Zhang system in an all-round way and implemented the most stringent water resources management system. Besides, China also has controlledthe consumption and strength of the total amount. China aims to construct a watersaving and water ecological civilization society. And these measure works. Ithas a positive progress. In 2016, the water supply is declined, and the wateruse efficiency makes great progress. The water consumption structure tends tobe better, also the quality of the water.
In the future, the usage of water will be a long term concern of China. The government should pay more attention to the technology development of agriculture and industry and improve the reutilization rate of water resources. Water is the original of the life. All of us are responsible to protect the water from pollution, which benefits our next generation.
