节妇吟

君知妾有夫，

赠妾双明珠。

You know I have a husband, my lord, 

Yet gave me these twin pearls. 

感君缠绵意，

系在红罗襦。

Touched by your affectionate care, 

I bound them to my red silk vest. 

妾家高楼连苑起，

良人持戟明光里。

My home has towers linked to royal gardens, 

Where my husband guards the palace halls. 

知君用心如日月，

事夫誓拟同生死。

I know your heart shines like sun and moon, 

But I vowed to share life and death with my lord. 

还君明珠双泪垂，

恨不相逢未嫁时。

Returning your pearls, my cheeks wet with tears — 

How I regret we didn’t meet before I wed.

①妾：古时女子的谦称，这里是诗人自喻。

②缠绵：情意深厚。

③襦：短衣、短袄。

④高楼连苑起：耸立的高楼连接着皇家园林。苑：帝王或贵族的园林。

⑤良人：旧时女人对丈夫的称呼。

⑥明光：这里指皇帝的宫殿。

⑦用心：动机目的。

⑧如日月：光明磊落。

⑨拟：打算。
