Am I dying?
If you are asked by a dying person, how will you react?
Tell the truth or tell a lie? This is a question troubled the speaker.
At first he's just like everybody else does, he chose to tell a lie trying to comfort the dying person instead of telling them the coming end. But when he first tried to tell a man that he's gonna die, the man didn't show any sorrow and was just peaceful. He then realizes that telling the truth is not so cruel but another way to comfort those people.
For me, although I don't think death is so horrible, I can still understand those who want a long life. It is worth it to pursue a long and meaningful life for everyone.
After all, what will you answer the question is not so important, 'what will we leave to the world ' is actually the most important thing.
