最近睡眠不好，睡太早反而后半夜睡不着，干脆不睡了。接纳此刻，白天尽快调整。豹豹和大家早读纳尼亚第九章。这一章较短。
这一章基本讲的是爱德蒙的经历，他偷偷溜走后历经辛苦终于抵达了白女巫的宫殿，可惜剧本却没有像他想象的那样开拍。爱德蒙的苦头开始咯。

今天简单谈下either这个小词，一般说两者常用both(两者都)，neither(两者都不)和either(其中一个)
either: one or the other,it doesn't matter which one.
常和of连用 eg. I haven't been to either of these shops.(=I haven't been to one or the other.)
或者either …or eg.Either you apologise or I'll never speak to you again.
take no notice of sb. 不理睬某人
give sb. the cold shoulder 冷落/怠慢某人(很形象)
It was then that he began very quietly to edge himself under the curtain which hung over the door.
it was... that强调句
这个句子主要是edge这个词用得太妙了，把爱德华偷偷摸摸的感觉写出来了。

看来说话有时候不经意是真的会被人记仇的。当然不排除爱德蒙小心眼。
之前就出现过这个桥段，Peter说Edmund,爱德蒙曾暗暗发誓Edmund was saying to himself, “I’ll pay you all out for this, you pack of stuck-up, self-satisfied prigs.”
pay out这里指付出代价，更多是指支付钱财

另:词典中较高频的用法(作为名词)是~of doing sth./~that.../~of sth. happening/~of sth.

其实这个词想到了stooping,在哈利波特中太常见了。A stooping man had appeared behind the counter, smoothing his greasy hair back from his face.

afraid to do : don't/doesn't want to do it because it is dangerous or the result could be bad. We use afraid to do for things we do intentionally(故意地)
afraid of sth. happening = it is possible that sth. bad will happen(an ccident etc.)We do not use afraid of -ing for things we do intentionally

despite 一般不加of,偶尔出现但用法强烈不建议

这里主要是几个生物名字:
satyr萨蒂尔，古希腊人话中公羊角，腿和尾巴，半人半兽的森林之神，是创造力、音乐、诗歌的象征。(和古罗马神话Faun相对)
centaur是在哈利波特1中禁林中见到的，半人半马，古希腊神话的人物。
cat-a-mountain传说中皮很松的山猫，很野性。
龙，西方的龙带翅膀喷火什么的，影视游戏形象众多，dragon其实有邪恶的意味在里面。现在说到中国的龙，其实更多的还是采用拼音Long即可。

另一个近义用法in spite of someone or something(注意不是in spite of)
:without regard to someone or something; even though another course had been prescribed; ignoring a warning.
eg. In spite of her orders to stay, I left. In spite of the bad weather, I had fun on vacation.
“Is this all your news?” she asked.
news是一个不可数名词，以及前文出现的and I’ve come to bring her the news that my brother and sisters are now in Narnia...
像advice,behaviour,permission,information, progress等等都是我们可能比较忽视的不可数名词。
