My sister-in-law is three-four month pregnant carrying the second baby while the old son is over 5 years old. Her husband is that kind of man protected well by his family. This is the first time for him to take a train travelling so far in his 26 years of life experiences. As a result, both the son and the husband depend deeply on the pregnant sister-in-law. Indeed, my sister-in-law is a healthy and strong woman. Because she didn't get admission of college, she went to big cities to work in restaurants and factories before marriage, making her experienced and strong. Luckily, she married well unlike most country girls who drop out of school early. Her husband's family runs small businesses and her mother-in-law is a village cadre, moreover, her husband is the only son of the family, so they are provided a sound economic foundation. Another important strength is that she gave birth to the boy in the first year they got married. You know, in the village, people still hold a strong preferrence of boys to girls. What's more, she is carring the second child now. All these factors secure her strong position in the family.
The second day they came to Shanghai, my sister-in-law told me that tomorrow would be her birthday. So I ordered a birthday cake for her. She also told her mother-in-law about her birthday and immediately got one big red envelop through wechat from her mother-in-law.
This time, since it's the summer vocation, she brought her son here to Shanghai for tourism. However, it's not a good season for travelling. In the day time, it's too hot to go outside due to the strong sunshine. And we have to go to work without time to accompany them. Only on weekends, we can go to some indoor places like Shanghai Aquarium to play together. Besides, considering her current health state carring a baby, we dare not play too crazily. However, the fact is that my nephew, my daughter, my husband and I all fell ill one after another, sunstroke or overtired, but my sister-in-law is safe and sound despite of her full participation of all the activities, which makes us all blush with embarrassment for our poor physical quality.
During their stay in Shanghai, the happiest persons during the visiting are my nephew and my daughter. Two little guys screamed and played to their heart's content with each other's accompany. They always made the room a mess. And my mother-in-law had to sleep in the living room, giving her bedroom to her daughter's family. She also had to do the cooking and washing for the big family.
Today, My sister-in-law went back home. And the whole world recovered peace.
