I am happy when my friends praise me for my new skirt; I am happy when my family members are getting together; I am happy when my boyfriend tip me a big hug.;I am happy when I make a progress in my study ···I am happy all the time , because I enjoy what I have to my heart’s content. Just as what the great hero Ken Keyes, Jr once said," We always have enough to be happy if we are enjoying what we do have--and not worrying about what we don't have." I can’t agree more about it . And yet above all the things I enjoy, I like staying alone quietly most. By doing this, I can enjoy the feeling from my inner peace and satisfaction. That’s happiness , I reckon.
However ,in our daily life, many characters lay stress on the significance of material things. They desire for more things, more accomplishments, more money, a better job, a better mate or others such as prizes in life. For those people, happiness seems fleeting, because they let changing outer circumstances affect it. They become slaves of outer events. They lose their freedom. They let their happiness be determined by outer forces.
From my perspective, happiness has nothing to do with material things, or with man’s outward circumstance. A man living in the lap of luxury can be wretched, and a man in the depths of poverty can overflow with joy. Consequently, the best way for those material-oriented people to feel the happiness is gaining inner peace through daily meditation by staying alone by yourself. When the mind becomes more peaceful, it becomes easier to feel your happiness. The instance I stay quiet by myself, thereby I can stay focused on what I really want and need. Only in that exact moment can I feel the world seems to stop moving. Only in that instance can I touch my deepest soul. By focusing on the endogenous pleasures within our bodies (e.g. our skin, arms, legs, etc.) we can learn to continuously stay in touch with these happiness-evoking pleasant feelings . Instead of getting our happiness primarily from what is going on around us, or what is going on in our head, we can get it from the pleasant feelings that are an inherent, physical part of us.
Well ,that’s my happiness from the inner peace and satisfaction. If you want to be happy, be happy.
