6am challenge - day 3

I was able to get up at 6:30am, which is not ideal, since this is a 6am challenge, not 6:30am. One accomplishment today, I was able to reduce the use of my phone, meaning less social media, more focus on tasks.

By reducing the usage of my phone, it got me thinking, why I was always on my phone? What was I looking for by browsing social medias? News for one, review of things for another one, and a major one is swiping on the phone became a habit.

  • The overwhelming of information which drives me constantly checking social medias, being afraid of not knowing things or knowing it late than anyone else.
  • The desire of wanting to know more. This can be good and bad. It keeps my curiosity, helps me learn more stuff. It also wastes my time when I was reading/watching information that I don't need at the moment.
  • Because of I'm so getting used to checking my phone, I'm mentally attached to the phone, and checking social medias became a habit without any warmings. I sometimes found myself unconsciously swiping on my phone. The next thing I know, 10 minutes passed.

When constantly absorbing so much information which I don't need, it not only distracts me from focusing on my goals, but also generates anxiety.
