Instruments are tools that help build the fabric of a country. Guqin is a perfect representative of traditional Chinese musical culture because it embodies the customary values of clarity, fineness, simplicity and far-sightedness. Throughout history, the Guqin, along with chess, calligraphy and painting top the list of four subjects scholars trained themselves in. Philosophers and artists such as Confucius, Cai Yong and Ji Kang were all masters of the Guqin.

UNESCO proclaimed that Kunqu Opera, The Art of Guqin as well as Xinjiang Uygur Mukam and Mongolian Monogolarad-unurtu-yindaguu as “Masterpieces of the Oral and intangible Heritage of Humanity” .

There have always been many love stories about the Guqin. Hopeless romantics or exceptional Guqin players who find love and feel loss with the Guqin at the heart of the tale.
