Since I only graduated college five years, my career isn't so long, but I could definitely take my first three years in kindergarten as a beautiful place to train my leadership as I need pretty focus on my students. Reback to that time, I would take it like path-goal leadership and adaptive leadership training, as I want them to reach the goal graduate happy and healthy. Also, every year, the students have different psychological traits, so that I need to adapt the educational approach and teaching method need to change slightly to match their developmental level. Through my MBA program, I suppose to become an active follower by each course instructor and try my best to practice the leader's skills and traits in every course. In this course, I built the framework of different leadership theories. Also, I have a deeper understanding of the leadership approach.
I think that the contribution to the classroom includes two aspects: the maintenance of classroom order, especially respecting and listening to teacher and classmates; the other is high participation, especially active speaking. These two aspects are dynamic and static, balance and promote each other. My classroom discipline is excellent, with no late arrivals or early departures and I can always pay attention when someone is talking. This time I had a breakthrough, I had never raised my hand in class before, but I tried raising my hand to speak this time. At the same time, this is also the most comment I have made in the chat since I took the MBA program. In general, although I still have a lot of room for improvement compared with other cohorts, I have better than before.
Finally, I would like to say that this was a very excellent class. These five classmates left a deep impression on me: Rafael Binlayo, Mohamed Ali, Yassir Gharaibeh, Akila Waka, and Jack Lowe. When we were learning followership, Rafeal said, “The old saying is true, a good leader is a good follower” . Mahamed showed an incredible idea in the creative session part a short time. “I want to combine these things, which has Estee Lauder Essence Cream but also can be a body lotion; after you finish using, that container can also be a candle.” Jack Lowe pointed out what misconception of diversity , “That hiring is a diverse group of people is enough, rather than working on an inclusive environment.” Yassir also share an idea when we define leader and manager, “all leaders are managers for their followers, but not all managers are leading their followers”. Akila said to a case learning “Being an emotional or sensitive leader is a gender stereotype. Some female leaders, e.g. Mrs Priestly in the Devil wears Prada, are seen as cold and a ‘Snow Queen’”. In a word, I had an excellent leading globally course journey.
