Once when I was six years old I saw a magnificent（宏伟的，壮丽的，令人印象深刻的，出色的，高尚的，高贵的） picture in a book, called True Stories from Nature, about the primeval（原始的，初期的） forest.It was a picture of a boa constrictor（大蟒；括约肌；使压缩之物） in the act of swallowing an animal.Here is a copy of the drawing.

我六岁的时候，在一本书上看到一张很棒的图画。那是一本描述一本描述原始森林的书，叫做《生命的真实故事》。那张图画的是一条蟒蛇正在吞食另一只大野兽的情形。

In the book it said:"Boa Constrictors swallow their prey （猎物、捕获物，受害者，受骗者      捕食，欺凌，坑害）whole, without chewing it. After that they are not able to move, and they sleep through the six months that they need for digestion."

书上写道：“蟒蛇连咀嚼都不嚼，就把捉到的动物整个儿吞下去，然后就再也不能动，直到它们睡上六个月的长觉，消化所有吃进去的东西为止。
