重阳节， Double Ninth Festival / Chongyang Festival
重阳节在农历九月初九，“九” 为阳数，两九相重，故称重阳。它起源于上古时代，古时有秋季祭天、祭祖的习俗。
传统习俗包括登高望远、赏菊花、饮菊花酒、佩戴茱萸。
1989 年，我国将重阳节定为敬老节，倡导尊老、敬老、爱老、助老。如今，这个节日提醒我们陪伴长辈，传承孝道文化。
The Double Ninth Festival falls on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month. The number nine is regarded as a yang number. Two nines overlapping gives it the name Double Ninth.Dating back to ancient times, it was a time for worshipping heaven and ancestors in autumn.
Traditional customs include mountain climbing, chrysanthemum appreciation, drinking chrysanthemum wine and wearing cornel.
In 1989, China set this day as the Senior Citizens’ Day to respect the elderly. It calls on people to care for seniors and carry forwardthe culture of filial piety.
