Removing Mendeley field codes
- Click 'Export' in the Mendeley Citation plugin toolbar. By selecting this option, Mendeley will:
- Remove the code that powers the Mendeley Fields.
- Convert the entire document to plain text.
- No longer automatically update your bibliography to include new references, so make sure you're totally happy with your references before undertaking this step.
Removing EndNote field codes
- Open your finished and formatted Word document.
- On the EndNote toolbar select 'Tools'.
- Locate the tool, which is called 'Remove Field Codes' or 'Convert to Plain Text' depending on your version.
- Save the new document under a new name.
Removing field codes manually from Word
- In your Word file, press CTRL +A to select all content.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+F9 or Cmd+6 to unlink all fields and remove hidden links.
