“Negro still is not free.这里为什么still在is 前面,不说is still not free?”
the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination.
the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land.
马丁路德金用了大量的比喻给出了画面感如: a lonely island of poverty, a vast ocean of material prosperity。
languish(与suffer近意)这个词与昨天的sear一样是比较偏文学化的词。
