1、I'd like to talk about how lonely I was when I started university. Being away from home for the first time and all that.(C20 Test1 Part3第42句)

跟读这句话时，前面都听懂了，也没啥问题，但最后这个and all that, 让我丈二摸不着头脑。后来查了一下，才发现这个是在老外口语当中比较常用的，表示等等，诸如此类的意思，类似于，etc（etcetera），and so on, and so forth.

2、True(Q29), although you need to be a certain kind of person to be able to just strike up a conversation (C20 Test1 Part3第47句)

strike up a conversation表示主动与陌生人搭话，主动发起一个对话。

3、We should say something about solitude and how being alone and being lonely aren't the same thing.(C20 Test1 Part3第49句)

在这句话中，用到了三个与独处，孤独相关的词。

第一个是solitude这个是孤独，独处，独居的意思，做名词用，带有一点主动享受的意味；

第二个是be alone，表示独自一个人，形容词。

第三个是be lonely，这个才是表示孤独感的那个孤独，形容词。

所以这三个词的用法和语境是不一样的。
