Today is Sunday.

When Amelia Bedelia woke up the next morning, Jason was still sound asleep. They went to the island to pick blackberries again. Jason was knocked into the water by the sail. Amelia and Pearl told him they had known his plan. They made a deal with Jason that they wouldn't tell anyone his plan but he had to promise that he and his pirate crew wouldn't hurt anybody.

Amelia's father took her dog, Finally, to the seashore to spend the weekend with them. They all learned from Mary's neighbor, Bob, how to dig clams from the mudflats. Bob drew a diagram in the sand and explained how to construct a clambake. Amelia's father made clam chowder with the clams they picked.

On the festival, people dressed on their costumes and went to the beach. Suddenly a flag of a ship was on fire. Jason ordered his pirate crew to throw the beach balls that they had prepared for playing the pirate games to the ship. Then the fire was out. Jason and his crew became the heroes. They had a splendid clambake on the beach.

The beach vacation was ending.
