Habits Singing? Dancing? Playing poker? Sleeping?
Which ones do you like and which ones do you usually do?
Do you believe those are good or bad habits?
If you ask 100 people, you could get 101 answers because each of us has different thought. Maybe you have already heard that we need to do something for 21 days for it to be a habit but probably, you already knew that we only need a day or even an hour to break a good habit. That's a short time, yes and sometimes, there's no way for you to stop it.
Now, think about one good habit that you want to have and why can't you insist on doing it. I started to review what is my good habit. If there's one, it should be a thing that I'm proud of and I enjoy doing. If it's sleeping or playing poker, it would be hard for me to give up because they are more attractive and they're just lurking on the corner saying, look at me, I'm just here waiting for you and I can't resist the urge to do them. So now that I'm aware of my bad habits, that's just the first step. If they're calling me, I just tell myself, they're bad habits and I need to go far away from them. I try to find another thing to do to remove them from my mind.
Lastly, to keep away things that reminds me of my bad habit, I never let them exist in front of my eyes. They always say that bad habits are hard to break but maybe if I do this, I will give them up some time. HOw about you? How do you deal with bad habits?
