a) What's the meaning of BABOK?
Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.
- Primary purpose of the BABOK Guide is to define the profession of business analysis.
- A globally recognized standard of the practice of business analysis.
- Describes business analysis areas of knowledge, their associated activities and tasks, and the skills necessary to be effective in their execution.
b) What's Business Analysis?
- Business Analysis is the practice of enabling change in an enterprise by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
Note: It should be in a given context. when we talk about "Context", it simply refers to the circumstances that influence or are influenced by and provide the understanding the change.
Business analysis determines
What's the solution?
Where the solution would be implemented?
Why: rational justification for the solution.
When: Timeline.
How will the implementation come about?
BA enables us offer change or enable change that will add value to stakeholders which of course, in a nutshell, will lead to continuous improvement.

c) Who is a business analysis?
As long as they do the BA activities, they can be considered as a BA, no matter what the title they are.

What are some of the keywords in the definition of Business Analysis?
BACCM (Business Analysis Core Concept) Model

Note:
1. BACCM model is a great way to analysis the business problem / opportunity because it tells us "Who, What, When, Where, Why and How";
2. The core concepts have internal connection with each other. e.g. when a solution is proposed, we would further think about: how will the solution impact the stakeholders, how will it address the needs? and what about the relevant environment?
