About the author:
I grew up with books. As a preschooler, a favorite time of day was when my parents would come home from work, relax on the couch, and read picture books to me. At an early age, I realized the necessity of learning to read when, as a punishment for accidentally locking my parents out of their bedroom, I had to go without story time for a week! It was agony! Worse than a spanking! After that I often dream I could read all by myself: picture books, entire newspapers, my father’s mysteries...but always when I woke up, I still could not unlock the code of reading. Despite this setback, I became a full-fledged book worm at an early age.

Eileen Christelow has created numerous fun and funny picture books, including the five little monkeys series. Christelow illustrated it in sunny-colored pastels outlined in ink. She places the rhyme in a picnic setting, while the mother dozes, the little monkeys climb a tree and fearlessly call to crocodile, “ you can’t catch me!” the crocodile’s open its big mouth, and one by one the monkeys disappear. But I can see the missing monkeys hidden in the tree, at the end, the five little monkeys appear again. And their mama hugs them and scolds them, “Never tease a crocodile, it’s not nice and it’s dangerous.” And the monkeys do not tease Mr crocodile again! The reverse happy ending, surprised everyone.
let’s enjoy the pictures together.
Many children have heard the songs of the five little monkeys, some of them even can sing them nicely. So I used the finger puppets to make them read more happily.
