Down by the salley gardens

走进柳园

my love and I did meet

我与爱人在此遇见

She passed the salley gardens

她穿过柳园

with little snow-white feet

小脚胜雪皎白

She bid me take love easy

她嘱我从容去爱

as the leaves grow on the tree

如同树上的枝叶

But I，being young and foolish

但我却年幼愚昧

with her would not agree

不明她的劝解

In a field by the river

在河畔那片田野

my love and I did stand

我与爱人并肩而立

And on my leaning shoulder

在我微倾的肩上

she laid her snow-white hand

搭着她雪白的小手

She bid me take life easy

她嘱我潇洒生活

as the grass grows on the weirs

如同堰上的荑草

But I was young and foolish

但我却年幼拙笨

and now am full of tears

而今唯泪盈眶
