土马CC2--不要被你的大脑欺骗

One of the amazing thing I did  in 2016 is 辟谷. During 3 days' time I had not eaten anything except drinking water.  Originally my brain told me I am not able to survive without eating for 2 days, however after 3 days I am still alive and I believe cancontinue another 3 days if the teacher do not tell us to stop as we are beginner.Afterward I had not become sick or incomfortable, instead I felt my spirit connect with my body more closely, some old disease got eased, like dried eyes. If I insist thinking I can not survive, then I will not get such amazing experience.

The decision our brain made is not reasonable &sometimes as it is based on series of assumptions already existed in our brain. For example,  if you are a Phd of literature in Oxford,  will you consider applying to a job with another major? The answer most of us give would be 'no'.  In this case the assumption in our brain is: I already invest too much time on my current major, I should keep on doing it.  If you are rational enough you could find the 7assumption is based on I can do instead of what I want to do.

The assumptions in our brain are generated by mixing our old experience with massive new information. Instead of talking about refactoringold experience, I will focus on massive new information as the speech time is limit.

Nowaday, everyone need to face massive information from everywhere every second. include network, TV, book, news paper, magazine, various relationships. This makes people so anxious to deliver rational choice which needs relatively long period, most of time we need to give feedback right away according to the information. We only worried ifwill lose our job ifdo not follow boss's requirement,  But seldom considering if the job is valueable in a vision of lifetime.

How to stop massive new information making you so anxious to make wrong decision, I will give 2 suggestions:

Long-term goal followed by short-term plan.  When asked what do you want to achieve in 20 years' time, most of us will consider it based on our interests instead of reality. But when asked what do you want to achieve in 1 year's time, most of us will consider how to get more income, how to plan a trip during holiday. So the ideal way is to combine 20 years' goal with 1 years' plan.  20 years' goal is not that easy to be figured out,  you can try to reduce the period or find a coach to help you.Back to 辟谷,why is can stick to it because I want to become a taoist some day.

Have break.  We are told to good good study, day day up. So basically everyone is pushed forward in their bottom heart, they even not considered stoping for several minutes to check and plan, but these steps are necessary to help you stoping from anxious and focus on your long-term goal. For a break you can consider using physical exercise, Meditations, The pomodoro technique.

Back to 辟谷,why it is good for our  body,  as during that period our body  take a break for working for excessive  food in modern society, just as our brain to massive information.

Our brain have tens of thousands nerve cells, therefore millions of ideas come to our mind at one time, we can't stop our brain doing this, we have to find a way to cooperate with it smoothly, this is also a way to become inner-peace and wisdom.
