一、Teaching objectives
1、Knowledge aims:
* Learn about the differences of modal verbs: could ,should, and can use them correctly;
* Master the sentence patterns about giving advice.
2.Ability aims: 1)Understand the dialogues and write down the right information by listening;
2)Be able to talk about the problems and give some advice properly.
3.Emotional aims:Be able to face the problems and overcome difficulties bravely,
be able to work with others actively.
4.Learning strategies:Can listen and think positively ,be happy to express their ideas in communication.
5.Culture awareness:Express requests properly,make response to the requests of others.
二、Teaching importance and difficulties.
Teaching important focus: Learn some ways of giving advice,use the modal verbs should,could correctly.
Teaching difficult focus: Ss can talk about their own problems and give suggestions each other by using the structrues.
三、Teaching process.

Step1.Lead in
Play an English song《Trouble is a friend》.
Ss listen to it and sing along with.
用一首本节课有关的歌曲导入,激发兴趣,营造轻松愉快的氛围。
Step2.New concepts
1.Guessing game:Show some pictrues, let Ss guess:“What’s wrong with you?”Then show listening practice of 1b.
2.Show a pictrue of teacher’s ,have Ss give some help.And write down the ways of advice.
3.1)Ask differences of should and could ,then give the language environment to learn.
2)Have Ss listen and fill in blanks with “should” and “could”.
3)Have Ss work in pairs and make conversations according to the structrues.
4)Lead Ss to learn 2b.Give Peter’s friend proper advice
1.Ss observe and share their ideas,circle the problems of 1b.
2.Ss give teacher different kinds of suggestions.
3.1)Ss think and share opinions.
2)Listen carefully and finish the task of 2a.
Ss work in pairs to make and show their dialogues.
Ss think and finish 2b by themselves.
让学生利用图片这一非语言信息有效表达,看图说出1a的句子,激发学生的语用和思维能力,猜谜形式可激发兴趣;通过完成1b进行听力训练。
学生给出老师合理的建议,激发思维,总结出提建议的句型(将重点用思维导图的方式呈现在板书上。)
通过语境,举例学习should和 could的用法,通过听力练习正确选择和辨别should与could,帮助学生学习有关提建议的句型,突出重点。
给出范例,是为了关注个体差异。通过模仿,体验,创造、展示等学习方式操练目标语言,突出重点。
培养学生正确的语言判断能力。
Step3.Consolidation and development
Groupwork:
Talk about Ss ’troubles in their daily life,
Let other teammates give some advice by the mind map. Teacher create two or three kinds of language environment.
Ss work in Groups,discuss with teammates by using the important sentence patterns.
拓展提升训练,帮助学生创设2或3个语境,打开学生思维。运用本节课所学句型(板书思维导图)谈论自己的问题并给出合理的建议,检测输出与生成,突破难点。
Step4. Summary.
Ask:What have you learned for this lesson?
Encourage Ss to solve the problems bravely.
Ss speak out freely one and another.
学生畅谈收获,分享和反馈,体验成功的喜悦。
Step5. Homework
Writing: Li Ming and Wang Tao had an argument,if you’re Li Ming’s friend Zhang Hua,
Please write a letter to Li Ming and give him some advice.
Ss finish the homework after class.
运用目标语言写作,发展听说读写技能,进一步促进思维能力与综合语言运用能力的发展。
