The Legend of White Snake
Hello everyone!My name is Lynn. Today I will tell a famous Chinese story ‘The Legend of White Snake ’.It is a love story between a white snake and a scholar named Xuxian .
The white snake,Baisuzhen,had been lived on earth for thousands of years.She transformed into a beautiful young lady.She had practiced herself and mastered a lot of magic.
she still remembered the man who saved her life five hundred years ago,and she wanted to repay an obligation before going to be an immortal.So she had been trying to find XuXian whose previous life saved her.
Luckily,they met at the West Lake of Hangzhou city by accident. And they fell in love with each other at the first sight,then they got married.
Shortly after that,they set up a herbal medicine shop. Patients who were unable to pay were given free treatment and medicine.They helped lots of people.People who knew them said they were great people.
One day,a monk named Fahai passed by Hang Zhou. He heard about the couple,and he realized that Baisuzhen was a snake,so he warned Xuxian that his wife was a white snake disguised in human form. But Xuxian didn't believe it.
So,during the Dragon Boat Festival,Xuxian let his wife drink the Xionghuang wine which caused her to reveal her snake form.Xuxian was frightened,and died.
Baisuzhen tried all means and brought her husband back to life successfully.But unfortunately,Fahai conned Xuxian into entering the Jinshan temple and restricted him.
Although Baisuzhen was pregnant,she had to save her husband ,so she got the water filled the JinshanTemple with her magic. Many people died.What she did broke the rules of the heaven,so after she gave birth to her baby,she was confined to the Leifeng Pagoda by Fahai.And Xuxian became a monk of Jinshan temple .
18 years later,their son became the Number One Scholar who passed the imperial examination,he came to visit his mom and saved her out.Finally,the family got reunited,and both Baisuzhen and Xuxian bacame immortal.This is the end of this beautiful story.
