I have finished the survey about my project application.
My preference projects are as follow:
Five projects in ETC Pittsburgh:
1. Technology Enhanced Creative Collective in the Classroom
2. Manufacturing Futures
3. This could be Important: Artificial Intelligentsia
4. Games for Change
5. Let's Be Kind!
and two projects in Silicon Valley:
1. ETC-SV Electronic Arts - Maxis VR
2. ETC-SV AR Project
I'm willing to take part in these two projects only if THEY ARE IN PITTSBURGH.
My reasons to choose these projects are as following:
1. Technology Enhanced Creative Collective in the Classroom
I choose this project as my first choice because I am always interested in educational gaming. The reason why I choose ETC and gaming development as my career target is that I believe games can do more than bring happiness. Gaming can make more effort as tools in education and communication, and that's exactly what this project is pursuing. I've searched for the similar educational projects provided by ETC in the past few years, and got deep impression for the design ideas and interaction of those games. I feel that's what I want to fulfill in ETC, to make games being interesting and useful at the same time. And because I have both the experience of volunteer work for children in schools for the disabled and developing software for Alzheimer patients and their family. Therefore I am good at identifying pain points in specific user groups and raise effective and reasonable solutions from their point of view, and that's why I choose this project as my first choice.
