In November, Brighton College routinely conducts the first academic proficiency test of each year for all grades. Judging from the general idea of the school's questions every year, the difficulty of the first exam will be much higher than the quiz in the second term and the final term in the third semester. The reason why the school teachers do this is very simple. They want the students to study harder. In the following year, the students will more clearly recognize their own deficiencies and defects, and make up for the gaps. They also hope that students will achieve better results in the final exams next year, or the GCSE exams faced by Year 11.

In order for the students of each group to be better prepared and review this exam, I have compiled the syllabus of each year for you. You can also prepare your own exam questions based on these outlines, and review the topics I usually mentioned in class.
In addition, students need to pay special attention to the fact that the new knowledge points of each course in each grade are limited due to the recent start of the school year, and the new content learned by the students after the final Trinity exam of the previous school year has not been assessed. Therefore, 40%-50% of the content learned in the previous school year will appear in the examination papers of each grade. For example, Year 10 students will have knowledge points learned in the Year 9 in their test papers, accounting for about 40%.

同学们需要特别注意的是,由于刚刚开学不久,每个年级每一门课新学的知识点有限,再加上上一个学年最后Trinity 大考之后同学们所学的新内容并没有被考核过,所以,每个年级的考试卷中会出现40%-50%的,上个学年学习过的内容。比如,今年的十年级学生,他们的考试卷中就会出现9年级学过的知识点,占比在40%左右。

We can clearly find that the tenth grade has a larger span than the ninth grade. There are only dozens of topics in the ninth grade, and the possible topics in the tenth grade exam will suddenly increase to more than 30, so each Grade 10 students should be prepared, carefully review every knowledge point I mentioned, and deal with the more difficult exams in November.
我们可以很清晰的发现,十年级相比于九年级存在着较大的跨度,九年级的课题不过数十个,而十年级的考试可能出现的课题会突然增长至30多个,所以各位十年级的同学要做好准备,认真复习每一个我提到的知识点,应对11月份较为困难的考试。
十一年级 Year 11:
For Year 11 students, you will face mock exams for GCSE mathematics, and all topics from the GCSE stage will be included. So everyone should do more past paper and keep the status. And if you find that you have shortcomings in a particular item, you need to communicate with the teacher immediately to make up for the gaps.
