The next morning Hallie and her mother are sitting for breakfast. Her mother is asking something about the camp.
Mom:So, come on. Tell me, did you like everyone? Was it fun?
Martin is walking into the room with Hallie's cuppy in his hands.Hallie is so nervous that she immediately try to make a story for the cuppy.
Mom:Ah, Martin.
Martin:l found a stowaway in your suitcase.
Hallie:Oh, my God. Cuppy!
Mom:Cuppy?
Hallie:He...He belongs to my friend...the one l was, umm, telling you about. l can't imagine how he got into my suitcase.
Martin:Well, since he's not our Cuppy, shall we dispose of the little creature?
Hallie:No! l mean, no. l'll...l'll mail him to her. She loves this thing a lot...a lot, a lot.
Hallie:And she's, like, slept with this thing her entire life. And she could never be, like, say, in a foreign country without him.
Hallie:No, no. l'll take care of it. That will be all, Martin. Thank you.
At that moment the bell rings,Mother is going to answer the phone while Martin is leaving the room.
Mom:Hello. Oh, hi. How's the photo shoot going?
Mom:Hmm. Well, can you manage without me? l mean, Annie just got home from camp.
Mom:Hmm. Yeah.
Mom:Okay. Hold on a moment. Annie, would you hate very much running down to the studio with me?
Hallie:No, l'd love it.
Hallie is running down to the studio with her mother. They stop in front of the window and talk about the gown.
Hallie:Wow. That's incredible. You designed that?
Mom:Well, l had to do something while you were at camp. You don't think it's too...
Hallie:No, it's gorgeous. l love it.
Hallie:You know who would look really beautiful in that gown? l mean, like, really beautiful?
Mom:Who?
Hallie:You.
Mom:Me? You know what? l think that time change has made you a little loopy.
Mom:Come on. Let's see what all the fuss is about.
They go into the room and see what all the fuss is about.
Mom:Okay. l'm here.
Photographer:Ah, we're saved.
Mom:Hi, Angela.
Woman:Hi. Sorry, we don't know what to do with the veil.
Photographer:lf she wears it, it covers the back of the dress, and if she doesn't, the dress looks...
Mom:Incomplete, you're right. Can you try turning sideways with your chin up?
Mom:Yeah, l see the problem. Can l have the veil?
Mom:Annie, darling, pass me one of those hats on display in the window.
Hallie:Me?
Mom:Yes.
Mom:Which one do you like?
Hallie:The white one.
Mom:Me too.
Mom:Try this. Now, throw the veil straight back.
Mom:That's it. Now spin around. l want to see the back of the dress. That's beautiful. Did you get that? Just how it falls. Just down there.
Mom:Don't worry about the bouquet. You're married now. You've got to learn to juggle.
Mom:Don't forget you look happy. It's your wedding day.
Hallie:My mom is too cool.
Hallie is excited to observe everything about her mother.
