Today the HR colleague asked me to sign the employment contract. As I know, in general in our company, HR colleague represents company to sign the contract with 1, 3, 5 and long-term period. But the colleague first asked how old I am, I said 52 years old, then she said that I should sign a 4-year of employee contract.
What did that mean? I remembered that at the all-hands meeting last week, a speaker said that our company had laid off 15% of its employees. So I guessed that the employees who had left must be the older employees.
Older employees are not welcome in many companies, and that now includes the company I work for.
The risk tells me that I should try my best to develop a way to live in the future, within 4 years, and the English skill I'm practicing is one of the necessary skills.
