Four rules of logic thinking:
1) Question the general order of the ideas in a grouping.
Three analytical activities of grouping: cause of an effect阐述因果关系; divide a whole into its parts把整体拆分成个体; classify like things together属性相似的归纳到一起.
Tips: time order, ranking order, structural order (mutually exclusive of each other and collectively exhaustive in terms of the whole. 各个sub-points是相互独立的,与此同时,所有sub-points加起来可以完美阐述位于金字塔顶端的main point.)
Notes: What does he label the points as? Can i find anything more specifically the same about them? Can i justify their order of the whole on that basis? Are there any missing?
2) Question their particular source in your problem solving process.
When you identify a problem, essentially what you do is recognize that a particular situation yields a specific result. The problem-solving process consists of answering the following questions:
2.1 what is a problem? Things you don't like the result.
2.2 where does it lie? Picture the situation by gathering data, identify different causes/possibilities.
2.3 why does it exist? Make a judgement/hypothesis, brainstorming.
2.4 what could we do about it? List all alternative ways/solutions.
2.5 what should we do about it? Chose among the alternatives and make a final recommendation.
Moreover, you can use logic trees to structure your problem analysis process.
3) Question your summary statement about them.
State the effect of the actions and make the wording specific.
4) Question the prose in which you express them.
Putting your ideas into readable words.
