It is one little science project which could be done at home with kids. You need to prepare one plastic comb, one indoor faucet, and a head of dry and clean hair.
Now let's see how could we bend water with static electricity. First, turn on faucet to have a very thin steam of water flowing, otherwise it won't work. Then brush the comb through hair multiple times, say five. Now comes the magic, when the comb is slowly put close enough to the water stream without getting wet, the stream is pulled torwards the direction of where the comb is.
TaoTao tried to use his own hair to make the comb work. Unfortunately, his hair was not long enough LOL. Thanks to his mother's long hair,he was able to witness the occurrence of the magic and was interested enough to study how the position of comb affected the stream’s bending direction.
Here is the theory. Electrons in the hair are collected by the comb after it brushes through the hair. They carry negative charge, so do the comb now. As a result, when you bring the negatively charged comb near the faucet it is attracted to the positive force of water.
