Ⅱ. 多余修饰语（Unnecessary Modifiers）
文章中的冗词除了上一章所提到的名词和动词外，还有一种成分叫做多余修饰语，它们可以分为五类，以下将逐一阐述。
1. 重复累赘的修饰语
很多从中文里直译过来的形容词和副词在英语里都是多余的，它们表达的含义通常都在它们修饰的成分里体现了，因此它们只是重新强调了一遍而已。
a) 明显多余
例1：that theory too is a valuable ideological treasure of the Party
改1：that theory too is an ideological treasure of the Party（treasure本身就是有价值的）
例2：Chinese government took all possible eventualities into account when it made this policy decision
改2：Chinese government took all eventualities into account when it made this policy decision（eventualities本来就表示可能出现的结果）
