运城苹果赋
A Tribute To Yuncheng Apple

人文鼎盛，华夏开疆，是为古河东焉。其间也，峰峦参差，田畴平缓；瑞氛氤氲，草木稠穰。舜耕历山，荷锄忘累；禹凿龙门，引水流觞。嫘祖者，入户桑蚕长惠众；后稷矣，教民稼穑总无藏。是故社稷安宁，于斯为盛；黎庶富裕，惟此有光。
Crowning humanistic prosperity and Chinese frontier is the ancient Hedong area. On this land stands unsorted mountain range; lies gently rolling farmland. Enshrouded by foggy vapor, the land is endowed with a leafy expanse. Legends glories the land. Shun (an ancient emperor) laboriously cultivated mountains here. Yu chiseled Longmen mountain and dredged rivers to curb flood. The silkworm raising technique handed down from Lei Zu benefits the people.Houji, the progenitor of Chinese agriculture, taught people how to cultivate the land. Thanks to their blessings, the country is safe and sound. The folks are prosperous and happy.
夫福田善域，必有异品，殆至今朝，苹果兴焉。物分优劣，尺有短长。运城苹果，温差大、虫害少，收获原生态；海拔高、日照长，环境储甜量。五千余年阳光滋养，三十五度纬线生长。百余里山川，风光如画；十三县田野，花果飘香。远眺胜境，驻足无双。绿叶如华盖，红云似画廊。三百万亩碧波成海，六十亿斤产量满筐。中熟、晚熟、特早熟，保君四季尝珍品；金果、雪果、文化果，任我一招亦秘方。高产即多福，一俊遮百丑，筷子笼里拔旗杆，孔子云：“何陋之有？”
Special fruit must have been grown on this fertile farmland and luxuriant region. Till today apples blossom the branches. There are superior products and inferior products just as rulers have long ones as well as short ones. Apples from Yuncheng are organic thanks to great difference in temperature and few pests. High altitude and long sunshine make Yuncheng apples most sweet. Nourished by over 5,000 years of sunshine, Yuncheng apples grow at 35-degree latitude. The picturesque environment boasts over a hundred miles of hills and 13 counties of fields full of fragrant flowers and fruits.Overlooking the scenic spot, you may find that no place can match its magnificence. Before the eyes are canopies of green leaves and red clouds like an art gallery. 3 million Mu of green waves undulates like sea, 3 billion kilograms of produce fills the baskets. Wide varieties of mid-maturing, late-maturing, and pre-early-maturing apples assure visitors of a bite of the exquisite product throughout the year. Golden fruit, snowy fruit, culture fruit, a fruit by any other name would allure as enigmatic. High yield means rich blessings. One beauty conceals all ugliness. Though no merits to boast of, as was mulled by Confucius, “Is there anything that make it inferior?”

Once, people on this land pursued quantity rather than quality. Their focus didn’t reverse until they encountered setbacks. The rulers, having the situation well in hand, built an export platform and mapped the vision of “One District, Five Zones” (One District consists of Yanhu district, Linyi county and Xiaxian county; Five Areas is made up of the Yellow River Economic area, the Fenhe economic area, Emei Mountain economic area, Su River economic area, Zhongtiao Mountain economic area) by innovation. Once organic, red fruit turns into golden fruit. Double Bagging turns quantity into quality. Improving varieties, for breed is fundamental. Standardize techniques so apples may grow in beautiful shape and fine color. When autumn comes and a rich harvest is in sight， countless apples decorate the branches, it would be such a delightful experience to saunter along the country road, immersed in the gentle breeze, pick up any rich apple from the weighty branches and fill your mouth full with delicious apple pulp as you want. The sole fruit is amazing! Having this precious fruit would make girls fair and doctors redundant. Apple as a present contains a propitious meaning of soundness and blessings.
