Last week, we learnt a story about Helen Keller. This passage is difficult for the pupil in Grade Six.
As an English teacher, how to let Ss read and recite the story fluently? I tried my best to design some interesting activities.
First, watch the cartoon and find the question: Where /When was Helen born? Most of the Ss can find the answer: Helen Keller was born in the US in 1880.
Next, I use key words to describe the main ideas. Let Ss listen and imitate the story. It's hard for Ss to read and understand the past tense words: taught, travelled , drew , wrote ,lived.
At last we use three classes to learn to recite the story. Most of Ss can use the mind map to retell the story.
