This is a video clip of the Gambie Cat in the opera “Cat”. Firstly, the black and grey stripped cat Tom gives us a brief introduction of this  Gambie cat whose name is Jennyanydots. With the slow tune slow music, this tabby cat shows up in the wooden cabinet. She stretches herself with a yawn, showing the laziness and her fatness. Suddenly the music turns into a lively one with 3 younger cats singing and telling us what are is the Gambie cat’s nocturnal duties—she teaches the mice how to knot and tat. Tom continues to describe the daytime life of Jennyanydots’—she sits at every flat place as what the actress is doing on the stage. Tom is singing while fondling the tail of Jennyanydots to show his affection towards her. After the daytime play, Now the 3 cat ladies show up to lead us to the nocturnal life of this Gambie cat again—she not only teaches mice but also provides jobs for  the cockroaches who will destroy things if they cannot get good jobs. What’s more, Jennyanydots even created a beetle’s tattoo and that’s the moment when she puts off the heavy garment on her body to become a slender Gambie cat. She dances in line with the beetles to show her happiness and the sense of achievement since the beetles are all now all clean and tidy under her guidance. What a disciplined Gambie cat Jennyanydots is! She won not only the appreciation from Tom but also the admiration from lazy girls like me.
