Do parents should pay for a bride price?
Taking about today’s topic regarding a bride price, I’d like to air my views. About four months ago, one of my friends was preparing for her wedding. I heard that her family required a bride price about 100,000 RMB. Needless to say, it’s reasonable for the girl’s family to have this requirement according to her hometown’s tradition. However, I was horrified that her fiance didn’t provide his parents any help. His parents are farmers and have a bad economic condition. Much to my disappointment, the man has been working for more than ten years, but he has never given his parents money since he graduated from the college. However, when he dated his girlfriends, he was able to give her girlfriend 10,000RMB per month. His reason he didn’t provide money to his parents was that his business had been bad. His girlfriend thought that this bride price should be paid for by his parents. I didn’t know her boyfriend’s thoughts. In my opinion, the man should pay for this money instead of his parents. Our Parents have done too much to do in bring us up and have given us good condition to study, as we grow up, we should shoulder the responsibility of our family to reduce the burden of parents.
