1. What does “entitlement” mean? Can you give an example to explain it?
Entitlement refers to a kind of mindset which makes people feel narcissistic and distort everything to reinforce their greatness.
For instance,one of my students failed in the English test,he thought his inability to pass it was because he had a good command of english and the teacher wanted to give him a blow and so the teacher had the most difficulty exam to testify him.
2. What’s the point of telling Jimmy’s story?
The author tried to use the story to make readers understand what kind of person is entitled person.
3. Do you think you are special? What’s wrong with feeling you are sepcial?
No, i have never felt i am special.Actually i am a little bit introversive. Most people are average at most things they do.Even if when people feel they are special at something ,chaces are that they are average or below average at most other things.The deluge of exceptional information drives people feel desperate and makes them compensate through entitlement and addiction.
4. If you are not special, how can we achieve greatness?
First, we should accept the fact that we are mediocre. Second , find what we really want to accomplish in life and dedicate shit-tons of time and energy to it.Third, learn to appreciate life's basic experience.
